Summer Nearly Over

So summer is nearly over and I did not do a good job of blogging. However, there is not much to say since it has been over 100 degrees in Austin. Obviously, too hot to be outside much in the afternoon.

Having a boy is so much fun, but I realize there are many things I must start to like. For example, being outside, sweating, dirt, and germs just to name a few.

Today, Luke and I had a lunch date with my friend Emily and her son Matthew. We ate lunch and afterwards the boys ran around outside. We had a blast and will make this a weekly lunch date when possible. At lunch, Emily asked me what Luke was doing these days. I figured it was a good time to document. Here is a list for my 17 1/2 year old.

Says "uh oh Lukey"
Loves to play telephone, hold all things to his ear and waits for me to say hello
Loves putting a blanket on his head and walking like a ghost
Loves Toy Story 3 and Shrek
Still loves music and banging anything that makes a sound
Can kick a soccer ball, hit a ball off a tee, shoot a basketball and hit a golf ball with club (I think it is safe to say he likes sports)
Loves to go outside more and stands at the door waiting for you to open it
Climbs chairs and sofas and mommy
Likes cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, bananas, cheerios, blueberries, apple sauce
Hates diaper changes still
Loves bath time
Loves to look at his reflection in the mirror or glass of our TV stand
Loves books and story time - a scholar in the making
