Yesterday, Luke had his 1 year wellness check. Of course, Luke used this time with the doctor to show off all his tricks. He babbled the entire time. He clapped over and over again. He even walked as the doctor held on to his little fingers. She is certain he will walk any day now, so we shall see. He was all smiles until it was time for the four shots. He cried so hard barely any sound came out. It broke my heart. But after a short nap at home, he had forgotten all about it.

First Haircut
Today was Luke's first haircut. I put it off for months. I liked Luke's messy hair. It was the first thing people complimented on when they saw him. It was his signature if you will. A few months ago, I agreed to cut his hair when he was one year old. Well today was the day.
I thought he would cry for sure. However, he did not make a sound. He just looked around at all the other kids crying. He politely watched the cartoons on the TV while the women proceeded to cut off too much hair. (In my opinion.) Even though I was very specific in what I wanted it to look like.
As I do with my own regrettable haircuts, I am hoping it grows back soon. I will apologize to my son later for sitting by and watching as he received his first "bowl" haircut. In the future, we will go with the messy look.

First Birthday Party
My son is officially one year old. I cannot believe it. This past weekend, we had a circus theme birthday party to mark the occasion. The house was full of friends and family. Not to mention all of Luke's friends. I want to thank everyone who joined us for the celebration.

Sippy cups only
Two naps a day
Favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham
Favorite song is the theme to the Apple commercials
Saying momma and dadda
Walking all over the house with the walking toys
Loves to laugh and clap
Favorite toy was his red wagon, but now it is his new red tricycle
