Baptism Day

This weekend we baptized Luke. It was a very special day since many members of our family were in attendance. The ceremony was lovely and intimate. There were just a handful of other babies being baptized along with Luke. My sister Kristi is Luke's Godmother and my cousin Raul his Godfather. I have no doubt these two will love Luke as their own and teach him so many things in the years to come.

After the ceremony, everyone came back to our house to celebrate with BBQ and cake. Some even stuck around into the evening. The day could not have been more perfect. I want to thank everyone who joined us. It would not have been the same without each of you.

Going to the Chapel

This weekend one of my oldest and dearest friends, Joanna Garcia, married Chad Ives. The wedding was beautiful despite the rainy weather in South Texas. This just means extra good luck for the bride and groom. The celebration brought together friends and family. We all had a blast.

Congrats Mr.and Mrs. Ives!

Crawling and Solids at 6 Months

Last Thursday, Luke met with the pediatrician for his 6 month appointment. He is now 16.5 pounds and graduating to eating solids. His first rice cereal was yesterday and he loved it. He also did a pretty good job with the spoon for the first time.

The doctor was also very impressed that Luke had been crawling for the last two weeks. He started with pivoting in a circle on his hands. He then found out quickly he can get further using his legs. It is so cute to watch, but it means I have to constantly keep an eye on him. Owen and I are beginning to baby proof this weekend.

Enjoy the picture of my advanced little super hero!

Mom, I am Confused

First, let me say how excited we were to get a visit from my sister this weekend. Luke loves playing with his Aunt Kristi. As a speech expert, she decided to help him on some skills early. So far, we got "gagagagaga". We have a long way to go. Owen and I figure on week with my sister and he will be speaking non-stop. She also served as a baby sitter Sunday night, so Owen and I could have a night out with adults. Thank you!

This weekend we also got a visit from Trip, Wendy and Baby AJ Franty from Houston. Luke had the opportunity to play with baby AJ (for the first time) and Braden Betts on Saturday. He just loves play dates.

Saturday was game day, which meant it was time to dress Luke in school colors. He is just confused as to why the school colors change from week to week. Last time it was burnt orange. I wanted to be fair and dress him in maroon this week. I knew AJ and Braden would also be wearing the Aggie colors and it made for a cute photo.

My son will continue to be confused as to the orange v. maroon. Soon enough he will be able to pick his own game day clothes. Here is hoping he picks correctly. Go Horns!

6 Month Birthday

Today Luke is 6 months old. He has changed so much in such a short time. I think back to those first few days at home and realize how far we have come as a family. I am truly blessed and I thank God everyday.

In honor of Luke's 6 month birthday, I posted a picture for each month. Enjoy!
